Canal Muck Removal

This page will be updated regularly with the latest information on the proposed Special Assessment District (SAD) for the 130 properties, along the entire length of the Lakeshore/Archer/Pardee canals and the intersection between the north Lakeshore bridge and the old Pardee bridge.

Petition

For the project to proceed the petition must be signed by 51% of the affected residents.  As of 2/3/26 the Township has received enough signatures to move forward with the project, however, the team is continuing to reach out to residents individually.  The dredging project is expected to be a topic on the Harrison Township Board of Trustees meeting Monday February 9th to schedule the 2 public hearings.  Residents part of the SAD will be notified directly of those dates.

Both phases of the project are being planned for this year as previously communicated (see previous meeting notes here), however, specific timing is dependent on bid timing, permitting and contractor availability.
